Many people with complex trauma lack the ability to see a positive future. In some cases they lose the ability to see a future at all. Some of you are familiar with the CAST Canada workshop "Tomorrow Does Not Exist". While working with these folks, a focus on a positive future can cause them to lose trust in you and the helping process. It can alienate and confuse them and can also invoke pain.

Expected Outcomes and Learning Goals:
  • Gather an understanding of Brain Injury, it's prevalence and effect
  • Learn to identify signs 
  • SCREENING IS EVERYTHING - learn a five points question tool to enable 
  • Learn to work effectively and safely with

  • Gain skills including -goal setting, pacing, scripting etc.

 Who Should Attend? Any health or helping professional or educator with some existing background with trauma.  The day is popular with shelter and housing support workers, O.W. , ODSP,  Children's Aid workers, therapists, counselors, correctional and probation officers,  professors and students, EAP professionals, all hospital staff, youth, seniors.
