Part of Being 'Present' is Being 'Ready to be Transformed'

In the week of July 9, 2016 Ross Douthat was writing in the New York Times about global cosmopolitanism and arguing that,
" Genuine Cosmopolitanism is a rare thing. It require comfort with real difference, with forms of life that are truly exotic relative to one's own. It takes a cue from a Roman play right "Nothing human is alien to me." and goes outward ready to be transformed by what it finds."

This is an exciting way to look at the stance needed to be a successful health/helping professional.
